Objective of the Game
Score the most points by marking off numbers on your score sheet in ascending order for each color.
Number of Players: 2-5 players
Dice Information: Six dice (two white and four colored – red, yellow, green, blue)
Setup
Each player gets a score sheet with four rows of numbers in different colors. The numbers in each row must be marked off from left to right. Place the six dice in the center of the table. Players take turns being the active player, rolling all six dice on their turn.
Basic Gameplay
The active player rolls all six dice and announces the sum of the two white dice, which all players can mark on their score sheet if they choose. Then, the active player can choose one colored die and one white die, sum them, and mark the result in the corresponding row on their score sheet. Other players do not get to mark this sum. The game ends when a player has crossed off a certain number of boxes or when two colors are completely marked off.
Winning Conditions
The player with the highest total score at the end of the game wins. Points are calculated based on the number of marked-off boxes in each row, with penalties for missed opportunities.
Key Terms
Active Player: The player rolling the dice on their turn. White Dice: Used by all players to mark numbers on their score sheets. Colored Dice: Used by the active player to mark numbers in the corresponding rows. Penalty: Deducted points for not being able to mark a number when required.
Strategy and Tips
In Qwixx, balancing risk and reward is key. Aim to mark off numbers as quickly as possible, but be mindful of leaving gaps that you can’t fill later. Prioritize rows where you can make the most progress early in the game. Keep an eye on your opponents’ progress and adjust your strategy accordingly. And remember, the game can end abruptly, so plan your moves to maximize your score before the final roll.
